Internet Marketing In Vancouver

Is there any alternative to Comcast?
Fortunately, I have an antenna and can get every channel available in the Vancouver B.C. market.
That’s not the case for a friend of relative in the united states, he has Comcast, and is currently paying $60.00 a month for basic cable.
(Yes, my relitive should be asking this on his computer, but the internet company is doing a week long maintenance in the area. So I am asking this to help him out)
What options are there besides Comcast?
These come to mind, in addition to Comcast:
1. Dish Network satellite
2. DirecTV satellite
3. AT&T U-Verse (check at www.att.com)
4. Verizon FIOS (check at URL below)
5. Over-the-air (OTA) antenna
#1 & #2 are available everywhere if the residence has a clear view of the southern sky. Your U.S. acquaintance should check the web sites for #3 & #4 to see if either provides service in his/her area. And #5 is an obvious choice with strong OTA signals and an appropriate antenna. The 2nd and 3rd refs below will answer those questions.
#1 through #4 are all pay TV sources, they’re all competitive, and they all offer incentives for new customers, so it’s just a matter of finding out who’s available in the area and who has the best deal. #5 is a great option if he/she is satisfied with free OTA channels, but will need to get a separate Internet source, like DSL. Same applies to #1 & #2.
