Was I laid off fairly? Please help me understand.?
I was hired in June 08, laid off in Dec 08. I was hired as an Internet Consultant, duties included internet marketing, liaison between sales reps, web design & general office duties. I did my job and helped generate sales in a declining market, the company may have suffered financial loss do to sales being down.
My question is this: I was let go do to financial issues within the company, when I was let go the owners were taking trips all over and outside the country & I was told they had financial issues that could no longer support my position, but since being laid off they have upgraded the website which was expensive & renovated the whole company. I realize in times like this companies will find ways to make their companies stand out but I guess I feel betrayed a bit and just seeking the answer was I laid off fairly?

unfortunately there is no fair or unfair in life, bosses/owners are just that the boss they can do what they want it is there money and if they choose to spend it on items that may be unpopular with their employees it is their business, bottom line life is very unfair
