Part I.
We either write, or, at least, read the Internet marketing articles we publish at our Internet marketing article directory. We see very weird cases. Many marketers make huge mistakes regarding their articles’ conception.
1 – Many make a basic confusion between articles and ads. An article, even if it is written to sell something, should not promote a certain product or service directly. It should be made of valuable informations, and eventually include, a subtle way, some pre selling arguments related to a specific product and/or service.
“A contrario”, and ad can promote directly a product and/or a service, a subtle way too. Its content must be related to the concerned product and/or service. As we, nowadays, see the power of products and services reviews, a crystal clear promotional literature is required. The ads’ pitches must be accurate, and demonstrate a neat level of expertise.
An ad must contain valuable informations too, statistics underline this fact. A detailed review has a high converting power.
2 – Regarding Internet marketing articles, we also see basic mistakes in their titles. We, for example, often see this kind of title: “How to find a good Dallas SEO firm?” This title is much too specific, much too vertical, local. This title could be: “How to find a good SEO firm ?”; without mentioning Dallas in the title, but in the article’s body. Which publisher thinks that such a title will catch someone’s attention with this geo restriction? An article is read worldwide, specially with all the OnPage translating Addons. A Dallas SEO firm may get clients all over the world, even if, of course, some clients will prefer to be able to physically visit this firm in Dallas.
3 – Something weird we also see is how most of the writers neglect the keywords they provide along with their creations. Same about the articles’ Summaries. Most of the time they are vague, and do not contain targeted keywords.
4 – We also see articles, which describe and underline some issues, but do not suggest any related solution, neither in their body, nor on the page their link drives to. We all know that most of us go to the Net to finding answers, solutions; many articles, posts and eBooks are treating this subject.
Articles containing these mistakes lose at least half of their power, their OffPage SEO impact simply doesn’t exist. They will maybe generate visits, but most probably no ranking increase.
