Affiliate Xml Feeds
XML feed? need help with a website urgently?
hi i just started building a website. the website sell adult DVD’s and products for another store but there prices are a bit too high so i need something cheaper. i found another affiliate program but i don’t know how to add there products to my HTML website. the files are XML Feeds and CSV feed. i don’t know anything about this and i only have basic knowledge in Dream Weaver CS3. i want to know how i add them to the website. I’ll really appreciate the help . if you have any tutorials or link that will help thank you
Consuming XML requires you to use what is called an XML Parser. This is done most effectively via a common gateway interface like JSP, ASP.NET, CFM, and Php to name just a few. Accordingly, these are all server side processes. If you need to parse the XML feeds on the client – you will need to either write XHTML and define the DTD (Data Type Definition) or use the one they provide if they have one. Another way you can do it is via a quasi XML Parser written in Java Script. This will require you to become familiar with the JavaScript DOM (Document Object Model) API. Without knowing what resurces you have available to you — at this point, this is probably your best bet to have consume these XML feeds.
