Why have skin lighteners such a bad reputation?
I understand that skin lighteners may mean that dark skin is not attractive, but it is not the same with self-tanner? Did they not mean that is unattractive to pale? But with self-tanner, the only bad things that people seem to say is that they take over uneven and orange make you seem, no one seems offended them. I saw a comment like Dove beauty products are not true, because they with a skin whitening companies in China are affiliated. But this is not the same as tanning? The people are beautiful in all colors, but it is wrong for someone wanting to be more pale or brown?
A fake tan is a stain on the outer layer of the skin, but a whitener changes in the composition the skin itself. It is a much more intrusive product with more risk. Skin lighteners are common in China as a lighter skin is a status symbol. It means that you do not need to work outdoors (which you are trained / rich enough not to do physical work). It is also a class thing, and a beauty thing. Lightening Your skin is like saying: "I'm pretending to be better than I am." It is like a white person wearing a tiara and put on a posh British accent if they are actually from Brooklyn.
