Affiliate Marketing Article

When article marketing is it better to send someone to a capture page or straight to the affiliate site?
I realize that long term it’s better to capture the lead for repeat sales and such and since many people have to see something multiple times before they buy. But is there a trade-off to having people get turned off by a capture page that may have bought the product if they had gone straight to the affiliate site? If they’re coming from an article, they might be looking for the solution and ready to buy right now, but the capture page might turn them off. Has anyone tested this extensively? Would be great to see numbers rather than just “this is what I think” with no testing to back it up. Thanks.
You should be building links to your own business rather than to build for the merchant. Also it will not be easy to reverse the entire process should the merchant stops offering the affiliate program.
There are 2 schools of thoughts and I applied both:
1) Send straight to optin page. You will need to write an engaging resource box to tell them why they should go to your url. It’s usually a free report on how to solve their problems. This way, they are more likely to give their personal information.
2) Send traffic to your inner pages for SEO link-building benefits from an authoritative site eg. ezinearticles. Also you can have optin box at the side to get them to sign up for your freebies.
There are marketers making tons of money just by working on exclusively one method. In internet marketing, there are always many ways to skin the cat
