who else thinks that there is something more to the vast wealth of corparate beurocracy than greed?
The amount of money generated from the politically affiliated companies represented by the DOW jones is WAY beyond wealth, so I doubt that it’s accurate to point fingers at the oil industry and call them evil and greedy. These are economists, investors, statesmen and stockbrokers. They are the most informed about the global situation and the need for social change. They are also the least interested in any kind of economic collapse (I hope).
Is the American administration gaining investment capitol for a new world order? Is that a good or bad thing? How thick is this plot, anyway?
Excessive accumulation of wealth and power in the hands of a few is inherently corrupting.
Specifically, the increasingly rich and powerful will invariably, inevitably, find what they think are sound, just and moral reasons to tolerate and perpetuate progressively worsening conditions on the increasingly disenfranchised majority, in the interests of social stability, the greater vision, etc., and so on.
In other words, insulated from the consequences of their own decrees, they will tend to find their own grand abstract principles more important than the mere human lives they have taken charge of.
A certain amount of economic democratization ensures that, not only will the poor share somewhat in the benefits of this mutual effort that is society, but also that the rich will bear a decent share of the risks involved.
This gives the rich a somewhat better reason to stay honest about what they are doing.
