Affiliate Avalanche
What would be a good hockey team name for your city?
The Ontario Reign will be playing next season in the ECHL. I think that the Reign is a great name because as the Kings’ affiliate, Reign makes sense. However, I like it better when teams have a plural name like the Red Wings, Flames, Maple Leafs, etc, versus a singular name like the Avalanche, Wild, Lightning, etc. I also like it when the team name makes sense for the area, like the St. Louis Blues, Ottawa Senators, New York Islanders, etc.
If you had a chance to name a team for your city, what would it be and why? If your city sucks, then pick another one. The points go to the most clever answer.
Seeing as how Oklahoma City now has the Supersonics, I was thinking they should be called the Bombers. Think about it…
The proper terms CANADIEN HABITANT and CLUB DE HOCKEY CANADIEN are synonymous with Montreal, if we had to change it, I think we should be called the MONTREAL QUEBECOIS or in French it’d be LES QUEBECOIS DE MONTREAL
Laying Low = what about “LAS VEGAS BANK” (you know, Al Pacino’s character in Ocean’s 13)
